About Western Washington University

Western Washington University, also known as simply WWU or Western, is a public university located in Bellingham, which is a city in Whatcom County, in the US state of Washington, with a population estimated at a number of more than 80 000 inhabitants, during the 2009 census, fact which makes it the largest city in the county and the 12th largest one in the state.

Western was established in February, 1893, and it is one of the 6 state-funded, four-year universities of higher education in Washington. It offers its students bachelor's and master's degrees, its MBA program being ranked in the top 100 programs worldwide by the Aspen Institute.
